Kudos to Kathi Perkins
Praise is so seldom received in life that when it comes, it should be trumpeted from the rooftops.
My court has two offices. My main office is in the downtown courthouse. I am there four days a week. My office at Harris County Psychiatric Center is run by Ms. Kathi Perkins. Like all judges, I am a bit of a control freak. So, having an office for which I have responsibility but am not there daily could be a bit of a worry. But having had the pleasure of working with Kathi for almost a decade, I can assure you that worrying about that office is the least of my worries. I say this because Kathi is the sole of professionalism and competence.
My thoughts were recently echoed by someone who dealt with her in her professional capacity. He was so impressed with her that he wrote me the following letter:
Dear Judge Olsen,
Confirming what I assume you already know, Ms. K[athi] Perkins is a thoroughly competent, professional human being who communicates directly [and] clearly withing boundaries in a most appropriate manner…
…[H]er qualities are most appreciated by me. A CREDIT TO YOUR COURT!

I couldn’t have said better myself.
