Banned at NBC!!!!!!!
From what I’ve read and been told by members of the previous generation, for way over a century the town father’s of Boston attempted to protect the morals of their community by banning certain literary works, plays and motion pictures. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banned_in_Boston From what I’ve been told, at the end of that period, getting “banned in Boston” became a marketing plus for authors, publishers, playwrights, theatrical promoters and film producers. The lure of forbidden fruit still remains with us, just as it did in biblical times. Some things never change.
There was a story on yesterday’s Drudge Report http://www.drudgereportarchives.com/data/2009/01/05/20090105_225904_flashacn.htm that NBC rescinded its invitation to Ann Coulter to come on The Today Show this morning to plug her new book, Guilty, about the liberal bias of the news media. Although NBC claimed that the move was made to free up additional time to cover the latest spat in the Gaza strip, the air time was actually filled by the noted Middle East analyst, Rachel Maddow, who used her time to promote President Elect Obama. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/geoffrey-dickens/2009/01/06/today-replaces-banned-bumped-ann-coulter-rachel-maddow
If NBC’s bigwigs were all sitting up nights to make NBC look foolish and biased, as well as helping Ms. Coulter sell more books, could they have come up with a better plan? Personally, I doubt it!
