Spring had Sprung!

Everyone, I suspect, judges whether the Spring has arrived by some peculiar, highly individual criterion. When I lived up North, I certainly could not rely on the calendar, since March 21st was often bitterly cold, windy and bone chillingly damp. So I observed nature to see when it appeared that the seasons were going to change.

My criterion for the last decade has been the tree on my neighbor’s property.  It is quite visible from the window behind my computer desk.  I noticed yesterday afternoon that it was beginning to sprout buds of green. That tells me that Spring is its way in as Winter begins its retreat!
