Back at Work

I didn’t post anything in April because I was rather busy preparing for the final classes of the Guardianship course  that I just finished teaching at U of H.  While I still have to read and grade  the exam papers, I am done with teaching the course.

I must say that teaching the class has made me much more appreciative of what my law professors must have endured when they were teaching my class. It is difficult to get twenty four year olds to see the world through the eyes of older people, having different life experiences. As I see it, that is the essential challenge of a law professor.

Being on the other side of the podium, I noticed that my class was a lot less feisty and opinionated than my classes were when I was a law student at Duke. I guess that different ages produce different kinds of law students.  From what I saw in my class, every one of my students has the makings of a first class lawyer. I wish them well.
