Air Conditioning Fixed

February 2nd, 2012 by Rory Olsen

A few years ago I was told by a senior engineer that he had been seated next to a fellow engineer on a flight from someplace up North to Houston.  His companion related that his employer, a manufacturer of air conditioners, was sending him to Houston find out why there so many warranty claims filed by people from the Gulf Coast.  The air conditioning engineer was amazed when he learned that in Houston, most people will run their units at least for a few nights even in the wintertime, since we have occasional days and nights even in January and February that hit the high seventies with high humidity.  Of course, they run 24/7 from April to late October or early November. The man’s jaw dropped when he learned that.  His employer made their units under the assumption that the units would be used primarily in the summer, with a bit of usage in in April, May and October.  Welcome to Houston!

My air conditioning died on the night of January 30th and wasn’t fixed until yesterday, February 1st. Only in Houston do you have to make air conditioning repairs in January.  Thank you to Scanlan & Sons for getting it fixed so quickly.
